Director – Healthcare and Life Science Division

Turki I. Almugaiteeb, Ph.D. is the  Director of Healthcare and Life Science Division at RPDC. Prior to that, he completed his post-doctorate at the University of Texas in Biomedical Engineering where he designed an innovative device that can isolate cancer stem cells for drug discovery research and screening, this work is under patent processing. His work made him interested in the fields of nanofabrication devices, bioprocessing, and nanomaterials.

Additionally, Dr. Almugaiteeb has 5 years’ experience in the petrochemical industry at SABIC where he led control system projects involved designing of control systems and instrumentations for local and international sites.

Dr. Almugaiteeb then transitioned into Nanoscience/Nanotechnology where he worked during his Ph.D. program on a project funded by the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA) under the department of energy (DoE) in the USA. The US national project focused on the study of Nano-magnetism materials to substitute rare earth metals in permanent-magnet motors for wind turbine and Electrical vehicle cars. Furthermore, the project attracted MOOG company attention to continue funding his research for weapon industry applications.

Dr. Almugaiteeb has a Ph.D. in Nanoscience/nanotechnology form Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), B.S. in electrical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).

Dr. Almugaiteeb has a driving passion to see innovations developed by other scientists transferred for market commercialization. He ambitiously applies his diverse experience to transfer technology to the Saudi market.

In his free time, Dr. Almugaiteeb likes to explore other historical cultures during his travels and takes time to advice Saudi youth on career development.
